The President of Nigeria Squash Federation (NSF), Mr. Femi Ajagbe has appealed to the Nigerian government to build squash court in each senatorial district of the country.

He made this plea while delivering his remark at the final ceremony of the just concluded Senate President National Under 20 Squash Championship in Abuja.

Mr. Ajagbe pointed out that by having a court in each senatorial district, the federation will be able to encourage youngsters to play the game.

He revealed that the Federation has instituted a project that will allow it go to various schools all over the country and scout for talents to be nurtured.

The NSF president also appealed for prompt release of fund for the National Under 20 squash team to Under 20 Africa Championship slated for South Africa next month.

At the final matches of the Championship, Dunni Okikiola and Adewale Amao both of Lagos State clinched the trophy for Female and Male categories respectively.

Dunni Okikiola overcame Yemisi Olatunji in an exciting game that she went ahead to win by 3-2, while Adewale Amao defeated Idowu Garuba by a straight 3-0.

The duo have therefore, gained automatic qualification to the oncoming African Under 20 Squash Championship in South Africa come April.

Other six players to represent the country in the Championship will be picked after camping that is expected to be thrown open soon.

The National Under 20 Female squash champion, told Trustsports that she was optimistic of winning the gold medal in South African following her present form.
